Killers murders box office competition

In a slow week for releases it was left to Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher to swoop in and take advantage of the lack of male presence in cinemas (apparently there‘s some sports tournament going on right now) as rom com fans sent Killers to the top of the UK Box Office in its opening weekend.

Further demonstrating the testosterone–free environment cinemas have become of late, Sex And The City 2, despite being four weeks old already, is still snugly positioned in number two. Meanwhile, chart veterans StreetDance and Prince of Persia are at three and four respectively after five weeks with Amanda Seyfried‘s Letters To Juliet falling three places to five.

Chris Rock and chums are still chuckling inappropriately in Death At A Funeral at six, while Emily Blunt and Bill Nighy‘s Brit–com thriller Wild Target is the only other new entry in the top ten at seven. Elsewhere, Dwayne Johnson is considering his career options as he tries his hand at being the Tooth Fairy at eight. He‘s not the only one wearing tights, however, as Russell Crowe is his usual pugnacious self in Robin Hood at nine, with the action–packed Brooklyn‘s Finest rounding off the chart at ten.
